VRE 372G was new to Grayswood Transport in March 1969. Grayswood Transport was a company within the Bassett Group of companies based at Tittensor, Stoke on Trent. Ltd
The Foden was in service with Bassetts for 20 years, and orginally named Joyce and carrying fleet number 3. The lorry spent the next 23 years in preservation before being purchased by Craig Berriff who has returned it to its "as new" livery.

A superb period photograph by Peter Davies taken well into the vehicle's life and still carrying the Grayswood Transport livery. The round timber was probably African hardwood collected from Tilbury Docks. Note the drivers suitcase on the engine cover.

When purchased in May 2012, VRE 372G was found in the basic livery of Archers Transport, who had owned the lorry approx 20 years earlier.
